Marie and I had the time of our lives last night. We attended "Beauty and the Beast" at the Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City.
Marie was so excited for the show and could hardly sit still waiting for the curtain to open. When the lights went down and the music started, she jumped on my lap and said "thank you Mommy!"
Melt my heart...
She not only wore a fancy dress with her best black shoes, but also her pink pearls and the biggest smile I have ever seen. The show was long but Marie handled it all very well with a little help from some M&Ms right after intermission.
I was so happy to have this first experience with her. I remember my first show with my mom. We went to Des Moines for "Phantom of the Opera." I wore a black velvet dress and my mom rolled my hair in curlers. I will never forget how excited I was and it made me want to be involved in music and theatre.
I am hoping Marie wants to attend more shows like this with me because I look forward to sharing these experiences with her again and again.
A big thanks to Daddy and Bennett for hanging back at home so the girls could get away together for some alone time...we need that every once in awhile.
