Over Labor Day weekend we traveled down to Nebraska for a Mueting family reunion.
Since we were in Lincoln and the Huskers were playing, we just couldn't resist getting tickets and taking the kids to their first big game!
The weather was wacky, but we were optimistic.
We spent the day at the Children's Museum and playing around at the free pre-game activities.
The kids had a blast watching the players bus pull up and cheering for them as they walked over to the locker rooms.
After we found our seats, we got a hot dog, our touchdown balloons, watched the band perform, and let the anticipation build!
The tunnel walk was awesome...the kids were definitely drinking the kool-aid and loved cheering for the Huskers!
The game started and the kick-off was complete! Then...the game was postponed because of rain and lightening. The weather just kept getting worse and Bennett was getting so nervous. Eventually, we called it and headed back to the hotel.
Unfortunately we were all bummed and really hoping we could watch the game. But, they did have fun experiencing the pregame excitement and it left the kids itching for more!
The rest of the weekend was kind of wet but also so much fun. The reunion was a blast and everyone played, laughed, danced, and ended the night covered in mud!
